The three stooges increasing Diabetes Risk

This is a tale of three phthalates: MiBP, MEP, and MMP. .First things first – what are phthalates? Well, we all have traces of phthalates in our bodies. They are used for things as common as shampoo, cosmetics, and shower curtains.

Are they safe? According to a report on 60 Minutes, they can affect our hormones. In fact they are potentially emasculating for men. But researchers in Sweden took the severity of health effects from phthalates a step further and published the results in Diabetes Care. Researchers hypothesized that certain environmental chemicals can contribute to the development of diabetes

Pardon the alphabet soup of findings but the study shows that several phthalate metabolites are related to diabetes prevalence. The specific culprits are: MiBP, MEP, and MMP. MiBP was mainly related to poor insulin secretion, whereas MEP and MMP were related to insulin resistance

Moe, Larry, and Curly have left a legacy of beloved entertainers. Sad but true, MiBP, MEP, and MMP are causing mischief today that may be harmful to your health in the long-run.
